Why people attend college?
We make a lot of important decisions in our lives, choosing to attend college is one of them. We may take the advices from other people to make this choice. But we can't deny that attending college better prepares us for the future challenges.
One great thing about attending college is to make friends with people with various culture backgrounds. At high school, students have limited opportunity to have classmates from other provinces or ethnic groups. But in the college, students are from across the country, even around the world. Making friends with them, students get to know various outlooks on life, customs, traditions and culture. Besides, through this process students can improve their interpersonal skills and make their lives richer.
In addition, in current society, attending college is one of the most important signs of success. People tend to respect the ones attending college more, regarding them smarter and more decent. In my hometown, if a child gets to the college, especially the prestige one, his/her family, the school he/she studied in will be very proud. Parents will use their success as an example to encourage their own children.
Last but not the least important, since students in college are more specialized, they can be more competitive. For example, applicants with Computer Science degrees would not only be qualified for high-tech jobs, they would also be more suitable for current office works which need proficient computer skills. And a college degree is accepted by employers as proof of competence. So applicants with college degrees are more likely to find a job that suits their interests and get higher salary.
Of course, there are more persuasive reasons for attending college. But as far as I am concerned, these ones are most important. Anyway, attending college is worth the time and energy we have spent.

IELTS作文可以吗?这是我第一次写的Task 2,心里很没底阿。
题目是Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
下面是我自己尝试写的:
In present-day society, advertisements can be seen everywhere, such as on TV, at the bus stop and in a newspaper, which aim at persuading consumers to buy their products. However, to what extent can they achieve it? In my opinion, although companies spend a lot of money on them, the influence is limited, as people purchase goods that they need at present or in near future rather than they see in advertisements.

The ability of thinking differentiates humanity from the other animals, which means that people are able to judge what is in demand and then they take it home as a result. That is to say that advertising has little impact on human’s decision. Except for people’s need, price may also influence people as they tend to buy the cheaper one among goods of the same quality. For example, no matter how many functions can an IBM laptop afford, a student maybe choose an ASUS or an HP who may accomplish not as much work as an IBM can but charges for a lot less.

However, we have to admit that advertisements enable products to draw people’s attention and make a deeper impression on them than those without advertisements. For instance, when two brands of shampoo in a supermarket are both unknown to you at almost the same price, you may choose the one that you have seen in an advertisement. For girls like me, such a situation probably occurs while buying cosmetic goods and so as cigarettes for boys, I suppose.

As a consequence, we can come to the conclusion that advertising possibly impacts consumers to some extent; however, people make their decisions mostly according their real demand rather than an attractive advertisement.

题目是:should visitors adapt the customs of the country they visit or should they follow the customs of their own country

With the globalization of the world, there is an increasing number of people who start to travel abroad. Since every country has its unique custom, many people argue whether the visitors should adapt the local custom or keep their own.
Admittedly, custom, which we are used to at the time we came to the world, is very difficult to change. Any behavior, which is different from the custom we have adapted, is seemed as a strange one for us. Thus it seems even impossible to follow.
However, in my point of view, we should follow the custom of the country we visited as the following reasons:
Apparently, the aim of traveling for most of the travelers is to broad their knowledge, to experience a life, which is different from his or her daily life.  Therefore, if a person does not try to follow the visiting country’s customs, how can this aim be achieved?  Furthermore, the process of learning the foreign country’s custom may help you have a thoroughly understanding of your own custom which you may never think about.  For the reason that many people will figure out some important thing when they think about it from a different even opposite dimension. Last but not least, follow your own custom and ignore the local one sometimes will be an extremely dangerous behavior. To take the traffic rule as an example, contrary to China, the cars in some European countries are driven along the right side. Hence, if you are a Chinese person, traveling to the European country without following the local custom, then your life is endangered.
In conclusion, although it is hard for people to adapt a new custom, it is essential to do so. Therefore, I think, people should at least try their best to follow the country’s custom they visited.

父母是最好的老师

十分感谢老师帮忙
We often hear the phrase"the parents are the best teachers,"someone will say "we simply accept the statement at face value as true.". But upon thoughtful consideration,I aggree with the this point of  parents are the best teachers of the children. In this essay, the reasons are introduce as below.

To begin with, the parents accompany with the children from born to grow up,so they know what  the children like, what the chileren need. The parent can give the children individual education to the children. The mother and father would teach the children how to obtain the konwledge what they want to learn, and would not force the children to study what they do not like .In the other hand, the other people ,like the teachers, are not familiar with the children, they need more time to konw the children, in this peried of the teachers and the children familiar with each other, the parents can teach children more things.

In addition, the parents' behaivor wouled influence the behavior of the children because the children  like to imitate their parents' behavior. If the parents have good manner ,the action of children will familier with their parents'.Futhermore, the parents alway keeping the best habit to educate the children to do the correct things. The parent creat the best
enviroment to teach the children have the good manner.

Finally, the children  believe their parents .It is difficult to children trust people except the parents,so the parents are easy to get the the trust. For example ,when we were babies,we were afraid of the strangers to hug us,we would cry when we leave the parents, because the parents give us the feeling of safety. It is very easy to the children accept the knowledge form the parents.

The parents love the children, they would devote all of their own to children.First,The parents will give the individual education to the children.Second, the children would imitate the good manner of their parents. Finally, the children trust their parents easier than any other person. So we must to say "the parents are the best teachers of the children".

题目:Decisions can be made quickly, or they can be made after careful thought. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The decisions that people make quickly are always wrong. Use reasons and specific examples to support your opinion.

If the question is whether or not decisions that people make quickly are always wrong, I guess the answer is definitely not. In some cases, we have long to deicide when in a dilemma like whether continue education or go to work directly or not. But there is also cases in which we have make a decision immediately like whether save a boy that had just fallen into the river. It is all too common we heard about heroes that save a child's life. Those heroes made decision as soon as they notice the child struggling in the river. But apparently their decisions are right.

One day, when I was relaxing in my home. I was planning for the up coming summer holiday when suddenly the telephone rang. A friend of mine called me and asked me if I can go with him to comic exhibition in Wuchang. I agreed at once. It seems that nobody can judge such decision is right or wrong. But this decision was certainly a quickly decision. So, for some of the decisions, including some quick decisions, we can hardly define it is right or wrong. Of course we can not say all the quick decisions are wrong.

Some people may argue that when a person is in a hurry, s/he may hardly concentrate on his/her immediate concern. Thus compare to those made after a long contemplation, the quick decisions are imperfect. But as I see, there are still some people that can always come up with a perfect idea whenever they are in a critical moment, usually in a hurry.

Thus simply say that decisions that people make quickly are always wrong is quite superficial. Therefore we had better agree that quick decisions are not always wrong, but also not always right.

我的第一次iBT习作!恳请指点~

1.Why people attend college?
After graduation from high school, young graduates are facing a tough choice, either to directly enter the work force or to go on acquiring knowledge in college. In my country, most people who have the choice choose the latter one. Attending college allows them to obtain further knowledge, enrich their life experience and make themselves more competitive in the society.

An old Chinese saying goes, “Keep learning till the last second of your life." And that's the motto for most chinese people. There is far more knowledge in this world than one can ever learn in a lifetime, and in comparison with the whole life, the years most people spend in schooling are as short as a blink, so every single chance to prolong this period would be precious. Colleges give its students opportunities to specialize and advance that can be offered from nowhere else. With college education, one can understand life and this world in a new depth, it would be a regret to live the rest of one's life without such illumination.

Additionally, college life is a unique experience for one to have in life. It is insisted by a number of people that working experience is more valuable than life in college. But don't forget, that being in college does not mean you can't work at the same time. Unlike work, college experience is more of a one-off chance, it's something that you can only enjoy the most at a certain age. Of course you can still enter college when you're old, but it would not be the same as when you're young and energetic.

Finally, a college degree makes a person much more competitive than those who don't have one. For example, when a company desires employees who are competent in computer technology, even if two applicants have the same test results, the one that possesses credentials from a famous university is more likely to be hired. Sometimes a college degree also means higher salaries, richer choices and better luck with love affairs.

2.Are parents the best teachers?
Parents, as the most reliable adults for most children, act an unignoreable role in education. Therefore, they naturally become the children's first guides to this dazzling world. It is believed by a number of educators that the children's dependency on their parents makes them the best teachers. But that is totally wrong, teaching is a complex process, parents may be the most effective teachers, but they're certainly not the best teachers because of their lack of academic knowledge, teaching methods and their tendency to spoil their own children.

Most parents don't work in academic fields, even for those who do, they usually specializes in one field only. Therefore, parents aren't usually capable of teaching students the rich and various knowledge that they demand. According to a survey done by Shenzhen University in 2001, most parents tend to lead their descendants through "the path that they've walked", whether cautiously or not. Doctors want their children grow to be doctors, teachers want their children grow to be teachers... So having parents act the teaching role potentially limits the children's future options.

Additionally, most parents haven't been trained to use the appropriate teaching methods as professional teachers do. Even though a parent may be knowledgeable in a certain field, without the right means of teaching, he might misguide or upset the child. For example, in China, a large number of parents hold the belief that the stricter they are to children, the more outstanding the children shall be. Therefore, when they're educating their kids, they criticize but seldom praise. And such means result in upsetting children and even causing hypochondria.

Finally, according to the survey mentioned previously, most parents also tend to spoil their children. In China, the one-child policy has made every child the precious of his family. As a result, kids get spoiled. Parents often ignore the mistakes the kids have made and even let them throw tantrums whenever they want! For education, we need real teachers who know the teaching tricks to help the kids grow mature.

合作性学习还是竞争性学习

In these years, whether students should work together (known as cooperative learning) or individually (known as competitive learning) has sparked spirited debate. While the former model of learning encourages collaboration between students, the latter seems to value individualism and personal achievement. As far as I am concerned, cooperative learning is more favourable, despite some of its drawbacks.

Convincing arguments can be made that cooperative learning exerts a profound influence on students. To start with, owing to taking advantage of individual strengths and combined efforts, student who is assigned with a task can benefit from a diversity of perspectives and experiences which can positively contribute to the improvement of the ability to solve problems. Therefore, cooperative learning, consciously or unconsciously, can enhance efficiency and productivity. Moreover, not only can it promote students’ face-to-face interaction by engaging at close range and being influenced by each other’s verbal communication but also it enables students improve social skills, with much of their awareness of the importance of cooperation in group and individual accountability. Lastly, compared with cooperative learning, competitive learning may result in the interpersonal conflict and be linked to high anxiety levels, self-doubt and selfishness.

However, some characteristics of collaborative learning have made it inapplicable on some occasions. For example, successful collaboration normally requires group dynamics, great variation in skills and intellectual levels of group members and a good command of social skills, and so forth. These prerequisites can easily overwhelm the possible benefits that collaborative learning techniques may have. Although collaborative learning tends to favour ordinary or slow students with giving them more support, it turns out that talented, eager students might learn little and become dissatisfied over time. This situation can be remedied by encouraging intergroup competition, grouping students and allowing them to compete in groups. It minimises the negative effect of individualism while retaining the interest of outstanding students in groupwork.

In light of the above-mentioned facts, teachers should identify the best learning style for students and predict its outcomes, either destructive or constructive. In cooperative learning, personal success springs only from group success, while in competitive learning, one learner succeeds at the cost of other learners. Collaborative learning brings more bebefits, despite the possibility of impeding outstanding students’ personal development, a problem which should be handled with caution.

尝试用相对口语化的语言写了一篇

尝试着用相对口语化的语言写了一篇题目,挺有意思的,但是不知道能不能拿高分~
题目:Which to marry? Someone similar to you or someone different from you?

As a person who has never gotten married at all, writing over on a subject like this might seem to be a little awkward. But it is true that during my years as a bachelor (which turns out to be my whole life). I have thought about marriage issues a lot. As for me, the answer to this question would be: if I am ever marrying someone, it would be a person different from me. Because some one with qualities that I don't have could help me look at things in a whole other perspective, she might happen to possess the abilities that I'm lack of, and the occasional fights caused by our differences wouldn't really matter if we truly love each other.

Whenever I talk to people about this decision, it always like "Man, you're going to regret." But I never bought that. It's true that two very different people, having such a close relationship, might end up not getting along so well. But every relationship has its ups and downs, the thing that matters is not how it should always be shiny and sweet, it's how to deal with it when it's not. And getting over with the occasional unhappiness, in a perspective, is one of the romantic things about marriage. For someone I love, I'd always be willing to apologize and say sweet things to settle the arguments. And an even more important thing is, the excitement and advantages marring someone different from yourself can give you far outweigh the unhappiness caused by it.

A partner that differs from me can show me a new and exciting way of looking at things. When all I can think of is work, she might notice how beautiful the nature is, and that might ease the pressure I'm having; when I'm all sad and discouraged, she could help me realize all the wonderful things in life that I still have, like my friends and family; she might calm me down when I'm too excited or cheer me up when I'm down and frustrated... These new angles of facing life would really help me when dealing with life, emotions, myself and all the other difficulties.

Having someone that's not the same as you as a wife might also be like two different jigsaw pieces being put together, it would add completeness to both of the couple. A life partner with skills that I don't have would make life and work a lot easier, each doing what he/ she is especially good at, a couple might cooperate to achieve goals that are unimaginable to reach alone for each one of them. A simple example, I cannot cook, so my bachelor life has been filled with take-aways, cup noodles and other junk foods. But I don't want to live the rest of my life like that, so marrying a wife who cooks (and that would definitely be a significant difference between us), would help me out of the trouble.

And these are the reasons why I want to marry someone who's different from me. I cannot even imagine spending the rest of my life with someone who's the same (A wife that can't cook? No, I don't think so!). So please, the almighty lord, give me a wife that's different from me!

谢谢楼主了~
这是我的第一篇argument 文章,有模仿北美范围的地方
希望指正。

The argument concludes that in a certain study of reading habits Leeville’s citizens misrepresented their true reading habits. To support this conclusion, the argument points out that an apparent discrepancy between their representations and the results of a follow up study showing that a different kind of books is the most frequently checked out of each of the public libraries in Leeville. However, the arguer fails to account for several other possible explanations for this apparent discrepancy.
First of all, in the first study, the arguer fails to indicate what portion of the people and how many people were surveyed, or whether the sample were representative of Leeville’s general population. If the survey is not reliable, it is impossible to draw any conclusions from it.
Secondly, even if the survey is reliable, the argument does not indicate how much time passed between the two surveys. During a long period the demographic makeup of Leeville might have changed, and the reading habits might have also changed. In short, the longer between the two studies the less reliable the conclusion.
Thirdly, the argument fails to account for the possibility that literay calssics, the reading materials that the first study’s respondents indicated they preferred, are not readly available at Leeville’ public libraries. It’s entirely possible that most of the books stored in the libraries are mystery novels because they are cheaper an are in a larger supply. If this is the case, it provides an alternative explanation for the fact that more mystery novels than literary classics are checked out from Leeville’ public libraries.
In conclusion, the assertion that repondents in the first study misrepresented their reading habits is unwarranted. To strengthen the argument, the speaker must show that respondents in the first study are representative of Leeville’ general population. To better evaluate the argument, we would need to know the length of time between the two studies, we would also need to know the kinds and number of books stored in Leeville’ public libraries.

要是老师有时间的话,就一定要帮我改改作文呀^^问题估计很多的,老师可要耐心哦,不然会气死的(但我是认真写的)
People come to schools to learn and practice, and confidences attract more attention from them. They come to realize that confidence can make people believe themselves, and constantly activate their potential. In this way, they can make a satisfied score, and to be the pride of their parents. So, I believe that teachers should encourage people, and knowledge comes second.
First of all, confidences make people happy. Self-confidence makes them believe that they can do good things, and they are promising. Naturally, this kind of positive attitude will have a good influence on their friends and classmates, and an active atmosphere will be formed. In addition, growing up in happy surroundings, that will easy to find their advantages and potentials, and it’s beneficial to their future. People all want to have self-realizations and their self-confidence will be an essential part of their coming development. What they formed does good to their career, so they must be happy.
Secondly, confidence not only makes people psychologically healthy, but physically healthy. With optimistic attitudes toward themselves, they will be active, and want to have a healthy body to live longer to enjoy the beautiful life longer. It will be easy for them to be healthy. Moreover, what they do regularly to be healthy will affect their families and friends, namely, maybe they will quit smoking and do more exercises. Confidence makes people healthy and forms a good attitude to life.
Finally, confidence leads to a successful future to them. Confidence gives people encourage. Since they believe themselves, they will challenge themselves and more creative. They might be excellent scientists, composers, leaders, etc. There is an example. A friend of mine was pessimistic when he was in kindergarten; fortunately, he came across a responsible teacher (beautiful). She helped him to built confidence, and he came to be a humorous boy. Several years later, I heard that he won an important competition called CHCP, an very important scientific competition in China.
What I have mentioned above clearly indicates that confidence comes first.
