* M# B0 x2 L/ }5 y- S; i: F. TDuring recent years, an issue has been rasing an increasing controversy: supporter or opponent, who can benefit us more easily? Some people think that we can usually learn much more from the former because disagreement always cause stress and inhibit learning. As for me, I do disagree this point of view. $ h1 {6 o; w& {. V; A5 C
First, disagreement can improve our ideas. There are always some designers fall into his mind so deeply that they can not find mistakes causing serious problems, and disagreement provide us a good way to avoid these situation. If opponents want others to accept their views, they must point some faults in old plans which planers didn't consider. Through hearing their statement, we could discover our errors , amend our plans, widen our horizon. However, if we only learn form people whose views we share, the whole knowledge we can gain is what we have known already. How can we find the mistakes which are not clear and correct them in this way? Therefore, disagreement is important for people to improve their plans. ; l' H% j" L) _. ~7 w
In addition, opposite views could provide a new way of thinking for us. Sometimes a person's idea is not bad, however, there are better solution for solving problem. Hearing those disagreement, we are likely to think that: What are they difference between them? Which is better for the matter? Thus, contradicting views may let us not work in a poor way, but accomplish task in the best method, so the work efficiency can be increased rapidly. On the other hand, if we ignore different views, what we can do is only to repeat what we have already done, which will not make us get progress. + y- R1 I7 h( O: u* S" c* L
Last but not least, contradicting views can encourage us to study. It's true that disagreement may bring people stress sometimes, however, this stress is not an obstacle inhibiting learning, but a stimulation to make us study harder. When we join a controversy, we usually want to convince opponents that they are totally wrong. How can we succeed? We must learn necessary knowledge to support our plan, research into opponents’ ideas to find their faults, consider all aspect of things to amend our thoughts, all of these is a good chance to learn new knowledge and accumulate experience. While if we only talk with people who hold the same opinion with us, we will feel that we are totally right, and there is no need for us to study. Obviously this mind is very dangerous for us to improve ourselves. So contradicting views are more essential than agreement. - Z& W, B- T3 o% o
All in all, disagreement can bring us much more benefit in solving problems rather than agreement. I believe that contradicting views should be regarded as a help to perfect our thoughts and in this way people can gain more chance for developing.
