In the past decades, the development of technology changed both the source from which the students get information and the
ways in which the students learn new knowledge. From the experience of my own and my friends
I have to say new technology

knowledges of human being increase much more quickly than ever before. Most of the latest knowledges that have not been

can get the latest knowledge in the field you are interested in. This is especially important for the college students and
the postgraduates. For engineering and science students, internet has become an indispensable tools for their research and
studies.
Secondly, new technology also offer us more choices about how to learn information.
As the development of technology, reading
books and listening to the teachers are not the only ways to get knowledge any more. Take learning foreign languages for
example. Learning foreign languages through videos become more and more popular. Videos make learning a new language more
interesting. And interests can make the students spend more time on learning initiatively. Additionally, Students can
understand the usage of certain words and phrases in certain circumstances better from the video than from the dictionary.
Internet also helps students a lot in learning foreign languages, especially the pronunciation. On the internet, you can find
new friend whose mother language is
what you learn just what you are learning. Through chatting with him/her on the internet, you can improve your
pronunciation more quickly.
In addition to the benefits the student get from the new technology, new technology also has some negative influence on
students. Take computer and internet as example again. Many students are indulged in computer games so much that they have
little time left to study. Computer games could be good hobby but not major job for the students. Sitting in front of a
computer and indulged in the imaginary world all day is helpless for the students to learn knowledge, not to mention learning
more and faster.
Every coin has two sides. The new technology could be a powerful tool for the students to learn information or a temptation
to be indulged in useless amusement. It is the students themselves who make the choi
