Among various kinds of pastimes, movie-going is with no doubt the most acceptable and attractive one. As the scopes of movies is continuously growing, and as the technologies is become more and more sophisticated, the development of movie has turned into a industry ,that spends millions of money, in its turn a gigantic profit has been gained as well.
Movies are so popular because they have the function of escaping the daily pressure of a common person. The pressure may come from family, wages, office, society and other directions. But as long as you see the movie, even the earliest one with only background music, you will naturally relax and find it not difficult to laugh at, say, Charlie Chaplin’s early films. Rather that, modern movies combined with stirring acoustic and sound effect, are definitely more appealing to audience. During the period of film watching, as you comfortably sit in a sofa for 2hours,there is no need to think about the daily bothers and you never will, for you will be totally involved and captured  in the plots.
Besides as a pressure reliever, movies can make one’s life more complete and more proper. Robert Frost once said: “Two roads diverged in the yellow wood, and sorry I couldn’t travel both.” Life is a great travel, we can choose to walk along the road to be farmers, doctors, merchants or scientists, but we can’t take the roads all or we can’t take the road that doesn’t exit in reality. However, in the theatre I can take the character’s roads as if I were the character. I can be a enchanter in Harry Potter , a astronaut in The American Astronaut, or a superman in Superman. Although it happens in fiction, but the feelings is real. It overcomes the problem of time and space limits and guides us to lead the life styles that suit our personality. In that case we will have no repentance to choose to a certain one
